ABOUT SUN COUNTRY SPLASH!
At Sun Country Splash we do not “just give swim lessons”. While teaching children to swim is one of our goals, we are steadfast in our commitment to the physical, emotional and psychological enhancement of children. In addition, we believe that a child’s swim lesson or water orientation requires the involvement and education of the parent or responsible adult who is accompanying the child. We will communicate with parents the goals, techniques, expectations, and risks of the instruction. Behind every safe child is a vigilant parent!
We offer a positive, happy and secure environment which provides for children’s social, intellectual, physical, and emotional growth. Learning is individualized based on each child’s capabilities. Here, aquatic safety and aquatic enjoyment can, eventually, become second nature. Our instructors are caring and loving teachers with training and experience in swimming instruction. Our heated, saline filtered, warm water lesson pool offers swimmers optimum water conditions for the smallest of swimmers. NO RED EYES, NO IRRITATED SKIN, NO DAMAGED HAIR OR BATHING SUITS. With all these positives, we find that getting your child in the pool is easy. However, getting them out of the pool may be a bit more difficult!
We firmly believe that the consistent reinforcement of our year-round, one-day a week lessons builds success, confidence and smiles. And yes, we do believe that children as young as six months can have a positive introduction to an aquatic environment. Our beliefs are founded in our program’s simple steps and firm building blocks which are keys to creating comfortable swimmers. All of our swim classes have a low student to teacher ratio for maximum attention.

GUPPY AND ME (Level II)
Ages: 1 - 3 years
Time: 30 minutes
Guppy and Me II is for beginning toddlers and their parents. The main difference between this class and the Guppy I class is age, which means expectations are higher and drills are modified to be age appropriate. Parents are still taught proper holding techniques and other strategies to help swimmers gain relaxed confidence and comfort while moving through the water. Classes emphasize the following:
• Overcoming fear of the water
• Gaining breath control
• Relaxed gliding
• Floating
• Climbing out to the pool
RAINBOW FISH
Levels: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue
Ages: 3 years and older
Time: 30 minutes
Rainbow Fish classes are tailored to offer young swimmers the opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals of swimming. The low student teacher ratios in these classes allow the individual swimmer to progress at his or her own pace and developmental level. Swimmers will gradually increase their swimming abilities by learning:
• Submersion
• Rolling over
• Floating
• Entry techniques
• Kicking
• Streamlining
• Destination swimming (swimming until reaching a safe destination)
• Breathing and breath control
• Elementary strokes
More advanced Rainbow fish levels will be introduced to the basics of competitive strokes.
SPECTRUM SWIMMERS
Ages: 6 years and older
Time: 30 minutes
The Spectrum Swimmer is taught techniques and strategies to improve destination swims. Emphasis is placed on teaching swimmers how to take several independent breaths. Lower levels will focus on freestyle (with rolling breaths) and eventually, as swimmers progress, the basics of backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly will be taught, as well. Progression through the Spectrum levels will also involve swimming greater distances. The swimmer who successfully completes these levels is ready for the Splash Pre-Team.
SPLASH PRE-TEAM
Ages: 6 years and older
Time: 60 minutes
Splash Pre-Team offers swimmers who are already able to swim competitive freestyle and backstroke an opportunity to learn and improve all four competitive strokes. Pre-Team workouts will not only give swimmers an oportunity to improve and perfect stroke techniques, but will significantly help improve their endurance, as well. Swimmers completing this class will be able to swim each stroke 150 feet (or two lengths of the 25 yard pool). Water safety skills will also be taught.
SPLASH TEAM
Ages: 6 years and older
Time: 60 minutes 2 to 3x weekly (depending on level)
